Uncertainty
That feeling that something is lurking around every corner, that feeling that you can't exactly identify. You think you might know what it is and are not entirely sure at the same time. Maybe it is a tingling down the spine or a cold shiver. Whatever it is you sure as hell don't like it.

You're not really helping........
I am not, am I? That is how uncertainty seems at times. Like Solving for "a" in algebra you are not ever certain you got the right answer. Well, I was never certain even after being told the answer.
Anyway...........
Unlike algebra uncertainty can and is our friend. Despite it causing distress at times it is the thing that helps keeps us safe by questioning if the garbage bag will make a suitable parachute when we jump off the roof of our house.
In that moment we turn toward the uncertainty and consider what it is telling us. Then we decide what to do with the added information. No matter if we choose to jump or not, we have taken the time to listen.
With Curiosity,
Tom (a therapist)
No, the garbage bag was not in fact a suitable parachute and it looked really painful when my friend landed. Yes, we all laughed. No, he was not seriously hurt. Yes, he got even with all of us.
